Terms and Conditions

Every effort will be made to accommodate last minute orders; however we request you place your order at least 48 hours in advance. Our food is prepared fresh daily, therefore changes and cancellations must be received by 2:00 pm the day before scheduled delivery and cancellation charges may be incurred.  To make changes to your order, please speak with Andy directly by phone. Cancellations and changes will not be accepted by voice mail, e-mail or fax. A full description of our Terms and Conditions follows.

Pricing
1) Pricing is for food costs only. Additional costs will be outlined in your proposal .
2) Pricing does include disposable dishes where requested. Please add $0.50 per person for compostable dishes .
3) Prices do not included 15% HST.
4) Delivery charges will be added to your proposal.
5) Please add 15% service charge for events requiring service staff.
6) Prices are subject to change without notice.
 
Delivery Charge.
1) There is a flat delivery charge of $15.00 for delivery inside Metro Halifax. Additional delivery charges apply outside of the Metro area.
 
Service Staff
1) Servers are available at a rate of $16.00/hr per server with a minimum of 4 hrs.
2) Bartenders are available at a rate of $16.00/ hr per bartender with a minimum of 4 hrs.
3) Chefs are required to attend all food stations, plated dinners, buffets, and B.B.Q.'s at a rate of $20.00/hr per chef with a minimum of 4 hrs.
If you require the owner to be onsite that will be billed out at $75.00 hr min 4 hrs.
 
Payment 
All deliveries require a form of prepayment. We except Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Debit or Cash. Unfortunately we only except cheques, cash or E-mail transfers  for wedding payments due to high credit card fees. 

Corporate accounts
Corporate charge accounts are available with a credit card guarantee. Payment on corporate direct billing is Net 14 days. We may require an advance deposit on larger events. 

Private functions
Private party payment is required on or before delivery, by cash, personal cheque or debit card. ( excluding weddings )  For larger events we may require an advance deposit.
 
Protection Policies
1) Horizons catering is a full service catering company, therefore we will not rent out service or kitchen staff unless food and beverage is ordered from Horizons Catering.
2) Due to the strict food handling policies in Nova Scotia, Horizons Catering can only take part in an event in which all food and beverage has been provided by us. If other food sources are brought in (wedding cake exception) Horizons catering will be unable to participate.
 
Deposits, Cancellations and Guaranteed Numbers
1) A $500.00 deposit will be required upon confirmation of booking for events totalling $2000.00 or more, with 50% payment required 14 days prior to event and balance due 7 business days prior to event.
2) A $500.00 cancellation fee will be incurred on cancellations made within 7 days of event.
3) Cancellation of an event within 24 hrs of delivery will incur 100% charge of food and beverage. 
4) A minimum guaranteed attendance number is required 7 business days prior to event.  In the event the attendance falls below guaranteed numbers, client will be charged for the guaranteed number. 
5) Any function being held at our restaurant located at Indian lake golf course will be required to pay a $500.00 to sucure the venue for that date.
6) No food or beverages will be brought onto our Indian lake golf course location, All beverages must be purchased through the
 restaurant.
